About Our Business

Dr. Sherri Lauver is a founding partner of Concentric Research & Evaluation. She has
worked as a professional researcher and evaluator for 13 years in research, academic,
and government settings.  Previously Dr. Lauver served as the Associate Director for
Program Evaluation at the Warner School, University of Rochester. Dr. Lauver is
responsible for several local, state, and federal program evaluations of educational and
social programs and provides expert review to the U.S. Department of Education on other
evaluations.  She maintains an adjunct faculty position at the University of Rochester
where she teaches introductory and advanced doctoral coursework in program
evaluation. Dr. Lauver also served as a project officer for the Institute of Education
Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education, where she oversaw several major national
evaluations of K-12 educational policies and programs.  She earned a B.S. from Albright
College, an M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University, and a Ph.D. in
Education Policy and Practice from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Lauren Scher is a founding partner of Concentric Research & Evaluation and is based
in the Boston/Providence area.  She has worked as a professional research consultant to
several leading research firms and the federal government on educational and social
research and evaluation projects.  She has fourteen years of experience working on every
facet of program evaluation studies for youth including: designing, administering, and
analyzing survey data, as well as conducting sophisticated quantitative analyses of the
effects of programs and services on academic and behavioral outcomes.  She earned a
B.S. from Cornell University, an Ed.M. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Education
Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
